I am a native Californian who grew up in Los Angeles and attended UCLA. I left California in 1996 for medical school at the University of Michigan not knowing that I would not return for 20 years._After completing medical school at Michigan, I did my neurosurgical training at the University of Cincinnati/Mayfield Clinic residency from 2000-2007. Seven years of training was not enough and I elected to pursue subspecialty training with a world renown skull base and cerebrovascular neurosurgeon at the University of South Florida.

With my fellowship in skull base and cerebrovascular surgery in hand, I joined the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center from 2008-2014 building a busy cranial and spinal oncologic practice. While at MD Anderson, I became intimately involved in medical education, participated in research and published papers, and designed a microsurgical laboratory for resident and fellow training across all surgical specialties that hosted national courses. I accepted a position in South Florida only to find out that you can take a Californian out of California, but you cannot take California out of a Californian.

Fresno beckoned with a growing city near two of my favorite national parks, Yosemite and Sequoia/Kings Canyon in 2016. My daughters and I have embraced the lifestyle of the Central Valley and Central Coast. My practice is flourishing and I am proud to be an inaugural member of Community Health Partners with my colleague and friend, Derek Taggard in founding Community Spine and Neurosurgery on the Clovis Community Medical Center Campus.

My practice focuses on complex cranial neurosurgery, both endoscopic and microsurgical, as well as spinal disorders including cervical and lumbar disc arthroplasties. I participate in the Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Care Clinic to help manage patients with tumors alongside their oncologists and radiation oncologists at the Community Cancer Institute.

I look forward to having the opportunity to assist you in your neurosurgical needs and care.
