Dr. Michael Maruyama earned both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of California, Los Angeles, which is where he also completed his internship and residency. 

Dr. Maruyama is a founding member and current managing partner of Valley Surgical Specialists. He is board certified in general surgery, focusing on:

• Hernia
• Gallbladder
• Robotic surgery
• Laparoscopic surgery

With over 30 years in practice, Dr. Maruyama feels surgical care should be based on what he would prefer for members of his own family. One must always be a physician first, a surgeon second.
