Michelle Harban, WHNP-BC, is a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She earned her bachelors of science in nursing through Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa, where she grew up. Michelle worked for 10 years in the nursing field, working in the ICU/labor and delivery, as well as hospital administration, as the Director of quality improvement, Utilization review, and case managing. Michelle could see a need for safe, competent, and compassionate care in underserved areas. She felt so passionately that all people should have access to care no matter where their geographical location was, that she became the full-time sexual assault nurse examiner for her small county, taking call 24-hours a day, 365 days a year, in addition to her regular full time job.

She revamped and created a post-sexual assault program at her local hospital ensuring that all patients would have access to safe, compassionate, competent examinations. Michelle’s work as a sexual assault nurse examiner gave her the courage and the passion to continue on her educational path. While working adult ICU, and labor and delivery at a county hospital she completed her Masters in Women’s Health Nurse Practitioning. Michelle is a NCC board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and licensed in Iowa and California. Michelle has provided services in: reproductive health, OB, prenatal/postpartum, GYN, as well as gender affirming care. She is so very excited to come on board and specialize in Gynecological oncology. She has always been passionate about caring for women, empowering and advocating for them. She views this next step in her journey as enabling her to care for women in all aspects of their lives and all continuums of their care.

Michelle and her husband have four children and have hosted numerous foreign exchange students over the years. Their family is always having friendly contests like: baking, cooking, pumpkin carving, gingerbread house making, room decorating, drawing, painting, and who can be the thriftiest shopper and look the best! Michelle is an artist at heart. She loves drawing, coloring, and painting.
