A primary care physician or PCP, is a health care professional who provides both the first contact for a person with an undiagnosed health concern as well as continuing care for a variety of medical conditions. PCPs are often our first stop for medical care, for adults and children. Primary care physicians provide preventive care, teach patients and parents how to make healthy lifestyle choices, diagnose and treat common medical conditions and make referrals to specialists when needed.
