Airi Katoh M.D. is a board-certified breast surgeon dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Katoh grew up in San Diego, California, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology with honors from the University of California, Berkeley. She went on to receive her medical degree from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
She completed her general surgery internship and residency at the University of California, San Francisco - Fresno, where she was recognized as Chief Resident of the Year and received the Golden Scalpel Award. During her training, she also placed third in the American College of Surgeons National Skills Competition. Following residency, she pursued advanced fellowship training in breast surgical oncology at Emory University.
Dr. Katoh is certified by the American Board of Surgery and holds Breast Ultrasound Certification through the American Society of Breast Surgeons. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Breast Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American College of Surgeons. In addition, she serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the Department of Surgery at UCSF Fresno.
Her clinical interests include the management of both benign and malignant breast disease. Dr. Katoh values a team-based approach to breast care and works closely with radiologists, medical oncologists, and other specialists to ensure every patient receives the highest level of care.
Outside the operating room, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time outdoors.
