Dr. Deborah Gumina has been dedicated to the treatment of women and men in the Central Valley for over 24 years. Born and raised in Fresno, California, she received her undergraduate degree at University of California, Davis, before going on to study medicine at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. 

Returning to the Central Valley, Dr. Gumina completed her general surgery residency at the University of California, San Francisco, Fresno program before joining a local practice in 1996. She dedicated her surgical expertise to the treatment of breast disease in 2005 and has since been recognized by the American Society of Breast Surgeons as a breast specialist. She’s also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. 

Dr. Gumina was a founding member in the development of the Marjorie E. Radin Breast Care Center at Clovis Community Medical Center. She specializes in nipple-sparing mastectomies and breast-conserving therapy, and is certified in oncoplastic surgery, in which plastic surgical techniques are used to give the best cosmetic outcome when performing lumpectomies. She works in conjunction with talented plastic surgeons to provide the latest reconstruction techniques for her mastectomy patients. Dr. Gumina also maintains an interest in male gynecomastia and performs male mastectomy when needed. 

Dr. Gumina has served on multiple cancer committees and participated on boards and in many health screenings locally. She’s honored to be affiliated with the UCSF teaching program, and has taught breast surgery to residents for over a decade.

When not practicing medicine Dr. Gumina enjoys cooking and traveling the globe with her family and friends.
