Erin "Emma" Murphy, MS, LCGC, is a board-certified genetic counselor, with a masters degree in molecular genetics and genetic counseling. Emma grew up in Santa Cruz, CA and has always found genetics fascinating. As genetic testing has become more available and complex, she wants to help patients navigate evolving options. As a genetic counselor, she can help patients make informed choices and feel more empowered in managing their genetic health. 

Emma specializes in prenatal genetic counseling, helping families navigate genetic testing options covering a wide range of situations, from family history concerns to atypical ultrasound findings. She wants patients to feel like they are in control of their medical care and have the information they need to make informed choices. Genetic testing can bring up complex questions and emotions, and her role as a GC is to help navigate new information and form a plan that addresses each unique situation. 

Emma works together with patients to come up with an individualized plan. Genetic testing is not one size fits all, so she wants to understand each patient’s goals and expectations. She is grateful that as a GC I can support my patient in navigating difficult and complex situations.
