Katharina Schwan, MS, MPH, CGC, is a board-certified and licensed genetic counselor who provides comprehensive genetic counseling services in the areas of prenatal, preconception, pediatric, and general medical genetics.
Katharina is a Clinical Genetic Counselor with Community Genetic Specialists and holds certification through the American Board of Genetic Counseling. She earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from California State University, Stanislaus, and a Master of Public Health in Global Health from Boston University.
She has extensive experience counseling patients and families about a wide range of genetic conditions, coordinating genetic testing, and providing clear, compassionate guidance to support informed decision-making throughout the diagnostic and reproductive care process. Her clinical interests include reproductive genetics, neurogenetics and connective tissue disorders.
In addition to her clinical work, Katharina is passionate about advancing access to genetics services and integrating genetics into reproductive and primary care settings.
She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and maintains active genetic counseling licensure in multiple U.S. states.
