Marissa Urbano, M.D., MPH, was born and raised in Fresno. After completing her undergraduate degree at Stanford University, she went on to work in research at the University of California, San Francisco, where she aided clinical research studies on Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. Dr. Urbano earned her medical degree and a Master of Public Health from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. She completed her neurology residency at Harbor University of California, Los Angeles, where she also pursued a fellowship in neurophysiology. During her fellowship, she specialized in the care of patients with complex epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders.
Dr. Urbano has a passion for working with underserved communities. While in residency and fellowship, she treated patients at county hospitals and VA medical centers in Los Angeles County. She has presented at various conferences across the country, including the American Academy of Neurology Annual Meeting and the University of California, Irvine Neuromuscular Colloquium.
Dr. Urbano is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. She has a commitment to serving the patients of the Central Valley and providing compassionate care. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time with family, hiking, cooking, and playing tennis.
