Omar Mahmood, M.D., earned his medical degree from Al-Mustansiriyah University College of Medicine in Baghdad, Iraq, where he graduated among the top 10% of his class and received the Dean's Office Achievement Recognition Award. He subsequently completed his residency training and Hematology-Oncology fellowship at UCSF Fresno.
Dr. Mahmood is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. He brings a diverse background in clinical research, hematology and oncology care, and medical affairs within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. His experience enables him to integrate clinical expertise, research, and innovation to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Mahmood enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, running, and exploring nature. He is also passionate about photography and is fluent in Arabic.
