Steven Gustaveson, M.D. obtained his undergraduate degrees in microbiology and immunology from the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, CA, and a degree in Doctor of Medicine from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA.  He completed his postdoctoral residency training in the specialty of Internal Medicine at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, Green Hospital in La Jolla, CA. where he was the President of the House Staff and served on the Critical Care and Liver Transplant committees.  He became a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1993 and returned to Madera, CA to practice Internal Medicine. In 1998 he joined the USAF Reserves and served as an active-duty Critical Care Transport Team (CCAT) Leader in the second Gulf War in 2003. 

 

Dr. Gustaveson has deep family ties in his hometown of Madera, CA, where he was born and raised, and his family has resided since the 1950’s. He enjoys hunting, fly fishing, and many of the other outdoor activities available in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and surrounding area.
