Tulsi Sharma, M.D., is board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. She is also a Certified Clinical Densitometrist and is certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Sharma earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India, where she also completed a residency in ophthalmology. She later moved to the United States to complete her internal medicine residency at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at the same institution.
Dr. Sharma has presented nationally and internationally on a wide range of endocrine topics, including new technologies in diabetes management, differentiating resistance to thyroid hormone from central hyperthyroidism, and the evaluation of unexplained hypercalcemia. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the International Society for Clinical Densitometry, the Endocrine Society, the American Thyroid Association, and the Obesity Medicine Association.
If you asked Dr. Sharma what she hopes patients know about her, she would say that she is a bone‑health expert who is passionate about the early identification and treatment of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease. She also has a special interest in managing women’s health, including gestational diabetes, obesity and weight management, thyroid/ parathyroid disorders , and performing thyroid nodule ultrasound and biopsies. She is committed to providing thoughtful, evidence‑based care and helping patients understand their conditions so they can take an active role in their health.
When she is not caring for patients, Dr. Sharma enjoys spending time with family, cooking, dancing, playing pickleball and hiking among other ways to exercise. She enjoys staying connected to her community and participating in public health awareness.
